Pune, 16th August 2023: The production of the revamped Smart Card for Vehicle License and Registration Certificate (RC) is set to kick off on August 21, employing state-of-the-art technology across three designated centers. Pune, 7th August 2023: The seamless issuance of Registration Certificates (RC), commonly known as Smart Cards, for vehicles in Pune has been disrupted due to a delay in the appointment of a new Regional Transport Officer (RTO).
The department has planned to at least print 45,000 smart cards every day to set up the preparation of new RC books and permanent licenses. The new smart cards are of different format, it will be of better quality and lower cost as compared to the old ones.
