Edenred + OMNY card = success! Today I purchased my first OMNY card at Duane Reade. (They had a lot of them, on the gift card rack and in a basket below.) I entered the OMNY card info on the OMNY site. I entered my Edenred MasterCard info on the OMNY site. I indicated that the OMNY card should be funded by the Edenred card.Say for instance, my plan 599 is supposed to have a credit limit of ₱1199 (that's 599 x 2 + ₱1.00). In other words at 1199 I have to subtract the 599 which is my monthly plan and what's left is ₱600 for overusages, data boosters, roaming add-ons, pasaload etc. They only gave me ₱899 instead of ₱1199. So in short I only have 300 pesos .This takes 5 business days. Auto-reload (after the first time) works instantaneously because, instead of adding cash value each time, your card remembers that it has auto-reload set up. When the number in the memory goes below the reload threshold, the card automatically increases the number by the auto-reload amount. Without auto reload, you'll have to keep a sizable balance in your venmo account to keep the card usable. Keeping a balance in your venmo account like that is an interest free loan for them. Their execs have probably already run the numbers and think it's more profitable to lose us as customers with this change.
