If the computer is not in the same domain or workgroup, then the following command can be used to deploy the certificate” This can be done by opening the Remote Desktop Connection client, clicking on "Show Options", going to the "Local Resources" tab, and making sure that the "Smart cards" option is selected under "Local devices and resources". I have a situation where a USB Smart Card Reader is not being detected in the “Microsoft Remote Desktop” App, BUT it is detected in the Built in RDP Client in Windows 10. The only explination I can think of is the Smart Card redirect is not enabled in the app.or possibly blocked by a policy.but I can’t find any documentation on it.
